REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS

Sea3 Systems provides innovative naval architecture, ocean engineering and integration services. We create new designs and refits that may span multiple technical disciplines, requiring detailed design, project management and logistical support.

Our naval architects and engineers are highly trained technologists with deep technical knowledge and practical experience in marine systems, including vessel design, electric and conventional propulsion systems, controls and automation, hydrodynamics and mechanical system design.

Sea3 creates transformative designs for the 21st century through advanced technology and multidisciplinary engineering. New-build or refit, large project or small, yacht or offshore system, we bring a whole-ship approach to the science of marine design.

Focusing on vessels from 30 - 150 meters including workboats, yachts, ferries and small to medium size cargo ships, we specialize in creating highly integrated solutions which reduce operational and maintenance costs. Producing customized, efficient and innovative solutions for each project, Sea3 uses advanced CAD tools, computer-based modeling and numerical simulation to test and refine designs before going to sea. This reduces project development time and cost, providing a solid technical base for ongoing maintenance.

Sea3 Systems is a vital strategic partner for massive refits. Our refit process includes end-to-end services, including detailed engineering analysis, selecting primary suppliers, handling project management, resolving problems, and class acceptance.

Sobe Sunset

Unique Hybrid Electric Refit

Sobe Sunset is one of Sea3’s most interesting projects. The retrofit at Apex Marine included designing of hybrid electric propulsion system and a next generation whole vessel digital control system for Atlantic Marine Electric.

The vessel team is creating an electric boat that embodies a hybrid-electric propulsion system composed of highly efficient diesel engines with lithium-ion batteries that are chargeable by the diesels, solar cells, dockside power and tidal currents. The HVAC system is solar-powered variable-speed.

The helm is a sidestick. Other unique features include replacing the conventional rudder system with differential thrusters. Performance data is continuously sent ashore by satellite with operational commands sent back from an onshore operations center via satellite.

Carpe Techne

All Electric Hydrofoil Trimaran

Technology capable of enabling this level of high speed and high performance vessel simply did not exist a few years ago. Sea3 combines high precision hydrodynamics with the latest materials technology. High efficiency lithium ion batteries, revolutionary jet pump drives and an advanced control system now align for an exceptional performance enabling technology applicable to a variety of vessel types, not just this design.

These advanced sciences now converge, providing technical capability for an all-electric, foiling, high performance trimaran concept craft. She tops out at a max speed of 60 knots with solar power for supplemental battery charging. Cruising Fort Lauderdale to Nassau on a single battery charge is achievable at 45 knots. This revolutionary technology also applies for yachts, fast ferries and other passenger vessels.
